First, you need to find a broker that you can hang your license under. Interview several and make sure that they meet your needs. There are many different types of brokers and brokerages, so make sure to choose wisely. Then, once you decide, you need to submit a sponsorship form (available on TREC's website) to the state. That will activate your license and you can begin working. |

You will download an application from the TREC website www.TREC.state.tx.us for an INACTIVE license. You will submit that, along with copies of your certificates from Spencer and your fee to the state. They will certify your education and issue you an inactive license. |

Well, if you submit an application to TREC before September 1, 2012, you will have 6 months to finish your 5 or 7 coursework. However, after September 1, 2012, you will need to take either the 6-course for the required (CORE) classes and then 3 (SAE) other classes in the first year, or you can take our 9-course pack and fulfill that requirement all at once. |

You can consult the Texas Real Estate Commission's (TREC) website at: www.TREC.state.tx.us to download an application, set up your fingerprinting, and schedule your licensing test. There are also forms that you may need, update information, license numbers, education providers (although you only need Spencer), and many other valuable tools. If you have any questions, you can call Spencer and we will help walk you through it all. |

Right now, you can take our 5-pack or 7-pack of courses, depending on how much college experience you have. However, that is only good through the end of August, 2012. The 5-pack costs $695 and the 7-pack costs $895. We offer a payment plan, which divides the price into 2 payments, but there is a $75 convenience charge for this option which is attached to the first payment. Each class individually is $140. Our Exam Prep class is only $110. For students in their first 2 years after finishing pre-licensing, you are required to take SAE courses. We offer those as a package for $260. Finally, our MCE (continuing education) course cost $95. |

Typically, it should take about 3-4 weeks to finish all of your coursework, if you take your classes in sequence during each cycle in the classroom. However, you are able to take courses online and you can possibly finish even faster by going at your own pace online! |

Before September 1, 2012, you need to take 120 hours of CORE classes (Law of Agency, Law of COntracts, Principals 2 & Principals 4), plus either 1 or 3 elective classes, depending on your level of college experience. After September 1, 2012, you will need to take 180 hours of core instruction initially, and an additional 90 hours of electives in the first year for a total of 270 hours. After you complete your course work, you then need to apply with the Texas Real Estate Commission, submit for fingerprinting, and pass your licensing test. |
